Cress Creek natural trail is located about 30 minutes outside of Rexburg in Ririe, Idaho. This trail has beautiful views and is great for hiking, walking, and running. 


Oftentimes, people will spot deer, rabbits, moose, lizards, and birds on the trail. This trail is animal friendly and you can bring your dog on a wonderful hike. Cress Creek nature trail is known for its views and the great overlooks of scenery. Cress Creek overlooks the snake river and south fork.


One thing that makes this trail stand out from other trails is that it is great for all levels of hikers. This trail is kid-friendly and family-friendly. It is a 1.5-mile look and it is wheelchair friendly. The first half-mile of the trail is paved. The trail is a loop, but you have the option to continue going up to make your hike more of a challenge. This trail is fantastic for pictures and there is a large parking lot that makes the hike very accessible. 


Cress Creek natural trail is accessible any time of the year. Most people go on the weekends or afternoons. In September and October, there are plenty of leaves and fall colors. The hike is perfect for a picnic with your friends and family. There are lots of benches and tables if you get tired.


This mild hike is great for all levels of hikers and there are plenty of cool paths. There is a cool bridge that takes you directly next to the snake river. The trail has very low elevation and you will not be alone on the weekends or holidays.


This hike is the perfect learning experience and there are history posts along the way that informs hikers about different animals and nature. There is a little bit of shade on the hike, but it is important to bring water.


During the winter, students or people can rent snowshoes from the BYU-Idaho Outdoor Rec. Center. Snowshoes cost less than $10 per person and this gives people the opportunity to hike in the thick snow. It is important for students to remember dress warm and bring a coat.
